The Journey to Allah~Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali~About this Book:
Bukhari records on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (saw) said, 'Your actions alone will not save any of you.' They asked, 'Messenger of Allah, not even you?' He replied, 'Not even me, unless Allah were to envelop me in His Mercy. Be firm, be steadfast and balanced, and journey (to Allah) in the beginning of the day, the end of the day, and a portion of the night. Moderation, moderation! Through this you will attain your goal.'

He also recorded this hadith in another place with the wording, 'This religion is easy, none makes it hard upon himself except that it overwhelms him; therefore be firm, steadfast, and balanced; upon which have glad tidings! Seek help by jouneying (to Allah) at the beginning of the day, at the end of the day, and a portion of the latter part of the night.'

He also recorded on the authority of Aisha that the Prophet (saw) said, 'Be firm, steadfast, and balanced upon which have glad tidings, for indeed actions alone will not cause one to enter Paradise...'

Medical Miracles of the Qur'an~Dr Sharif Kaf Al-Ghazal~About this Book:
A number of scientific truths that we have only been able to uncover with the aid of twentieth century technology, were stated in the Qur'an more than 1400 years ago.

Of course the Qur'an is not a book of science. However, many scientific facts that are expressed in an extremely concise and profound manner in its verses have only been discovered in recent years.

These facts could not have been known at the time of the Qur'an's revelation, and this furnishes still more proof that the Qur'an is the word of God.

Through such medical and scientific references in the Qur'an, the non-Muslim is provided with conclusive evidence of the genuineness of Islam, whilst reinforcing the Muslims' faith by motivating them towards admonition, deliberation and meditation.

The Spiritual Cure - Al-Fatihah~at-Tabari, al-Jawzi, al-Qurtubi, al-Qayyim, ibn Kathir and others~About this Book:
Surah al-Fatihah is the greatest chapter of the Qur'an. Its like is not found in the rest of the Qur'an or in the previous scriptures. Some of our predecessors stated that when this chapter was revealed, Shaytaan let out a great cry of lament. It holds a central position in the daily prayer and hence the daily life of a Muslim.

The underlying theme of Al-Fatihah is one of contemplation and serenity, pondering the Names and Attributes of Allah, pondering the creation, and acknowledging that He Alone deserves praise and worship, that He Alone should be asked for help, that He Alone should be feared and hoped in. It calls us to carefully scrutinise our relationship with our Lord.

Owing to the importance of this chapter, numerous classical commentaries of the Qur'an are drawn from, as well as a number of works dealing with Ulum al-Quran were also referred to.

Honey…Real Food & Medicine~Dr I Keeka & M. Hathurani~About this Book:
For centuries, honey was about the only substance used as a sweetening agent in foods and drinks. It was also regarded as the elixir of life and was by far the most important ingredient in the preparation of remedies for chronic illnesses and common ailments.

In recent times, honey has proven effective in the treatment of a great diversity of health problems. It is now used for combating bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics that so often infect wounds after surgery. It is also used in the treatment of a variety of skin conditions, ulcers, burns, bacterial infections, psoriasis, eczema, acne and septic wounds.

It is no wonder that the Qur'an had made mention of the curing properties of honey some 1400 years ago. Scientific research has confirmed this only in the last decade or so. Honey has the potential to prevent and cure diseases and ensure good vibrant health. It strengthens the body, expels gases from the body, strengthens the lungs, and cures cold-related illnesses. It cleanses the blood and cures diseases of the bladder, spleen, liver, chest and stomach.

The miraculous healing properties of honey are extensively covered in this book. You will be encouraged to keep two jars of honey, one in the kitchen and the other in the medicine chest. A section of this book has also been dedicated to the honeybee, and as you will find, the more you read about these incredible little insects, the more you will stand back in awe.

Festivals & Celebrations in Islam~Muhammad al-Jibaly~About this Book:
Festivals and celebrations are occassions of joy and happiness. They have their distinctive spirit in all societies and cultures, and are eagerly awaited and heartily welcomed by everyone.

The feeling of excitement associated with these occasions, coupled with peoples own native/pagan traditions or the traditions of the modern western societies, cause people to introduce unfamiliar, strange or even bizarre practices.

With a true understanding of Islam, an atmosphere of happiness and joy are maintained while the ocassions to be celebrated and the methods of celebrating them remain focussed and balanced.

This book discusses the two main annual Islamic festivals - Eid ul-Fitr (that follows the fasting month of Ramadhan) and Eid ul-Adha (that follows the Hajj 'pilgrimage' to Makkah), as well as the weekly Jumu'ah (Friday Prayers). It presents the guidelines for celebration according to the Qur'an and Sunnah, and warns against innovated occassions and un-Islamic festivals.

The broad and thorough discussions in this book make it an important manual and complete reference on festivals and celebrations in Islam.
